"An Invisible Hand"

An invisible hand reached out to me today
As I knelt on bended knee to pray
A soft caress merely brushing my back
Assurance that I am heading back on the right track
Even though I don't see you, I know that you're there
But yet you keep me constantly aware
Supporting me when I feel I can no longer stand
You were there before my life even began
I know there's been days when I've not talked to you
Times I 've been tired, and my mood has been blue
But you've always left open that golden door
Knowing I would find what I'd be looking for
There's been parts of my life where I've not been so devout
Yet your strength and guidance I never once did without
The rungs of your ladder, at times I've not climbed
Though you were right there, so real, so sublime
So the hand that reached out to me today
As I knelt on bended knee to pray
I know it was you, there comforting me
Soothing my heart, setting my soul free

"Thank You Mom!"

Thank you, mom, for everything,
I just wanted to say
That my love for you grows deeper
Each and every passing day.
Thank you, mom, you've given me
So much more than I know,
A place to stay, a place to hide,
A place to call my home.
Thank you mom, for teaching me
All that I've ever learned,
How to be strong, how to forgive,
How to be self-assured.
Thank you, mom, for being you,
And passing on to me
The goodness that's inside your heart,
That's all I'll ever need.
Thank you, mom, for everything,
I hope you know it's true.
I wish that there were words to show
Just how much I love you.

"Special Friend"

You are a special friend to me
You see what others cannot see
Your eyes look beyond my faults
And see my needs and all my doubts
You've been there through thick and thin
Thank you for being my special friend

"Kindred Spirits"

It's a reare occassion we're lucky to find
That mirror image, our "two of a kind"
A kindred spirit so tuned and true
Who feels your thoughts before you do
Whose comprehension of thoughts unspoken
Forms a bond that cannot be broken
The feeling of comfort as sharing takes place
Is caution a factor not a hint or a trace
Was it luck or chance we met that day
or was it destiny who can say
In any case, I'm thankful still
And meeting you was a fortunate deal
The smiles you bring are fortunes in gold
Yet this quality you have isn't bought or sold
It's free for the asking, it pours from the heart
This I could see, right from the start
As we talk and laugh with obvious ease
And sometimes dare to flirt and tease
Our minds are open to and fro
Allowing our likeness then to flow
You read my thoughts, then I speak my mind
Once more comfirming we're two of a kind
And though our connection seems destiny's goal
I know without a doubt, you're the mate of my soul.
